“LINGENFELTER 383”
1995 PONTIAC FIREBIRD FORMULA
If you read the April 1995 issue of Car and Driver magazine, you would have read about this extraordinary automobile.
This is a one owner car, in May of 1995 I Factory ordered from Courtesy Motors in Decatur Indiana and they in turn drop shipped directly to Lingenfelter for complete “383” modification. After completion of the Lingenfelter modification the car was shipped via Passport Transport in an enclosed truck to my home in Woodinville, Washington. This car has never been left outdoors and has always been garaged. This car has been meticulously maintained and is in excellent condition.

All documentation is complete with original order sheets and Lingenfelter work order. Original documents from Courtesy Motors including a 1995 calendar with a picture of the Pontiac as delivered in July of 1995.

The factory order included the following:
VB7S - Firebird Formula
1SC - Option Group 1SC
24 - Articulating Buckets w/Leather “Graphite”
MN6 - 6 – Speed Manual Trans
LT1 - 5.7 Liter V8
KZ4 - Cruise control
AU3 - Power Door Locks
A31 - Power Windows w/E press down feature
DG9 - LH/RH Power mirrors w blue glass
UP3 - AM/FM stereo ETR CD with Equalizer
C60 - Air Conditioning
C49 - Rear window defogger
& other standard items listed on the original purchase order.

The Lingenfelter modifications included the following:

LN0692 - 383 CID LT1 Package – including complete engine modification, Lingenfelter fly wheel, Lingenfelter drive shaft, suspension upgrades, drive line loop, upgrade 32mm sway bars and rear ladders along with Hotchkis tower strut support. Lingenfelter Performance valve covers.
391 0061 Hurst Comp Plus Shifter
Stainles Steel Headers – Jet Hot Coated ceramic
Borla Tuned exhaust
Fikse 3 piece racing Rims 17x9.5 & 17x11 – registered with Fikse

This was a complete “Lingenfelter 383” modification, no expense was spared, this was NOT a simple Lingenfelter add on, it is documented from Lingenfelter and John Lingenfelter himself actually tested and Tuned this car. This can be verified by contacting Lingenfelter directly and speaking with Tom Cress.

Many additional modification and enhancements have been made since 1995. Lingenfelter paid for “Jet Coating” of the headers to protect the spark plug wires and O2 censors, which later became a standard feature for the Lingenfelter Modification. Lingenfelter paid for the addition of a SLP Ram Air hood with air intake modification including Graniteli Mass Air Flow Sensor. An Accel 300 + ignition system was installed, LT4 anti Knock module, Hiper Tech fan switch and sensor.

At 53000 miles the engine dropped a lifter. The engine was completely rebuilt with Lingenfelter parts, performed by Craig Blood of Blood Enterprises in Auburn Washington. Documentation is included showing each part and complete Blue Print of the engine prior to re-installation to Lingenfelter specifications.

The car presently has 73900 miles and is in perfect running condition, no issues are present. In 2007 the injectors were replaced with Accel 26lbs injectors, the orginal Optispark was replaced with a DynaSpark Distributor unit which sells of over $599.00, new Accel coil was replaced, the water pump was replaced with a Meziere electric water pump, new Aeromotive adjustable fuel regulator, the clutch and pressure plate was replaced with a Centerforce Dual Friction. New Undersized crank pulley, New serpentine belt, new NGK plugs, new battery, new tires, Goodyear Eagles GS-C, front P275 40 ZR17 and Rear P315 35 ZR17.

AC serviced 8/7/2008 and blows cold air as it should.
